The Northern Circuit Route is the longest and most scenic route to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, offering exceptional views, low traffic, and the highest summit success rate. This 9-day trek begins from the Lemosho route and circles the mountain’s northern slopes before summiting via Gilman’s Point and Stella Point. It’s ideal for climbers who want more acclimatization time and to avoid the busier southern paths.

Tour Plan
You’ll be met at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to your hotel in Arusha or Moshi. Briefing with your mountain guide, gear check, and overnight rest.

After breakfast, transfer to Lemosho Gate, complete registration, and begin your trek through the rainforest. Overnight at Mti Mkubwa Camp.

Continue through forest to moorland terrain and reach Shira Plateau. Enjoy panoramic views and camp at Shira 1.

Easy day to allow acclimatization. Hike across Shira Plateau to Shira 2 Camp, with optional acclimatization hikes.

Climb toward the Lava Tower area before veering north to Moir Hut, a remote and quieter campsite with optional short climbs for acclimatization.

Begin the midnight trek to Uhuru Peak, passing Gilman’s Point and Stella Point. Celebrate at the summit, take photos, then descend to Mweka Camp for overnight rest.

Final descent through rainforest to Mweka Gate. Receive your summit certificate and transfer back to your hotel for a hot shower and celebration dinner.
