The 6 Days Lemosho Route is one of the most scenic and rewarding Kilimanjaro treks, offering panoramic views and lower traffic. Starting on the western side of the mountain, the trail passes through rainforest, alpine meadows, and high desert before joining the Machame Route. While shorter than the full Lemosho itinerary, this 6-day trek is ideal for experienced hikers seeking a scenic and slightly faster route to the summit.

Tour Plan
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where you’ll be picked up and transferred to your hotel. Meet your guide for a briefing and gear check. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Vegetation Zone: Montane Forest
Drive to Lemosho Gate and register. Begin trekking through lush forest while watching for monkeys and birds. Overnight at Mti Mkubwa Camp.

Hiking Time: 7–9 hours

Distance: 16 km
Trek across Shira Ridge and the Shira Plateau, passing Shira 1 Camp and continuing to Shira 2 Camp. This day offers amazing views of Kibo Peak and Mount Meru.

Distance: 10 km
Climb gradually to Lava Tower for acclimatization, then descend to Barranco Camp. This is a critical day for altitude adaptation.

Trek up the famous Barranco Wall, then cross valleys to reach Barafu Camp, the base camp for summit night. Eat an early dinner and rest before your summit attempt.

Start the midnight summit push, reaching Stella Point at sunrise and Uhuru Peak, Africa’s highest point. After celebrating at the top, descend to Mweka Camp for overnight.

Descend through rainforest to Mweka Gate, receive your summit certificate, and transfer back to your hotel for a well-earned rest.
