The 8 Days Lemosho Route is widely considered the most scenic and successful route to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Starting from the west, this route crosses the Shira Plateau, traverses the southern circuit with breathtaking views, and offers the best acclimatization schedule, significantly increasing summit success rates. It’s ideal for those who want to enjoy varied landscapes and take a slower, more rewarding path to Africa’s highest peak.

Tour Plan
Meet and greet at the airport and transfer to your hotel in Arusha or Moshi. Briefing with your guide, gear check, and rest before the climb.

Drive to Lemosho Gate, complete registration, and hike through lush rainforest to Mti Mkubwa Camp.

Continue up through forest and onto Shira Ridge before descending to Shira 1 Camp on the plateau.

Trek across the scenic Shira Plateau, allowing time for acclimatization. Optional acclimatization hike available in the afternoon.

Ascend to Lava Tower for acclimatization, then descend into the Barranco Valley. This climb-high, sleep-low pattern boosts your body's adaptation.

Trek up the impressive Barranco Wall, then descend into Karanga Valley before ascending to Karanga Camp.

Begin summit attempt around midnight. Reach Stella Point at sunrise and Uhuru Peak, the Roof of Africa. After photos and celebration, descend to Mweka Camp for a well-deserved sleep.

Final descent through rainforest. Receive your certificate at Mweka Gate, and transfer to your hotel for a hot shower and relaxation.
